Off-Site Activities Reservations

DAMOP 2009 has arranged for 2 off-site activities, intended primarily for accompanying persons:

Tour, Wine Tasting, and Lunch at King Family Vineyards

Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2009 9:30am–2:30pm
Distance: 14 miles (23 minutes)
Cost: $30 per person, including transportation and food

Visit one of Albemarle County's best wineries, King Family Vineyard, and enjoy a tour of the winery, a tasting with their friendly and enthusiastic staff, and lunch on their veranda overlooking their polo field. A bus will pick up the participants at the conference site at 9:30am and return them to that site at about 2:30pm.


Tour and Lunch at Jefferson's Monticello and the new Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center

Date: Thursday, May 21, 2009 9:15am–2:30pm
Distance: 6 miles (17 minutes)
Cost: $30 per person, including transportation and food

Take a guided tour of the home of Thomas Jefferson, on a mountain overlooking the University of Virginia. Designed by Jefferson himself, Monticello is one of the most remarkable and historic houses in the United States. This program will also include lunch and a tour of the new Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center. A bus will pick up the participants at the conference site at 9:15am and return them to that site at about 3:30pm.

The cost of each trip is $30 per person, to be paid by cash or check during the trip. Space is limited, so these reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
